EV Charger Installation
Charge your car at home.
Make electric vehicle ownership easier with a dedicated home EV charger installed by Max Electrical.
Home EV Chargers
Convenient charging, right on your driveway.
Having your own home charger means you can charge your vehicle while you are at home, rather than relying solely on public charging points.
A typical home charger can provide up to 7.4kW AC charging, depending on the installation and vehicle. We will assess your property and help determine the right approach before work begins.
Professional Installation
The right charger for your property.
Every property is different. Before installing a charger, there are practical details to consider.
- The location of your fuse board
- Where your vehicle is parked
- The distance between charger and electrical installation
- Your property's existing electrical capacity
- The type of EV charger required
- Cable routing
- Whether additional electrical work is required
You may be eligible for up to €300.
The SEAI Electric Vehicle Home Charger Grant may provide up to €300 towards the purchase and installation of an eligible home charger, subject to scheme requirements.
Work must not begin before grant approval. Grant approval and eligibility are determined by the relevant SEAI/ZEVI scheme rules and can change.

Planning your home charger
Which charger should I choose?
The right choice depends on your vehicle, parking position, cable reach and home electrical supply. Tell us whether you already own a charger. Confirm the proposed model and its features in your quote before buying.
What should the installation quote include?
Ask for the charger model, cable route and length, installation work, any electrical upgrades, testing and certification to be clearly identified. Additional work depends on the condition and layout of the property.
Can any charger qualify for the grant?
SEAI supports eligible smart chargers on its register. Check the current register and grant conditions before choosing a product, and wait for grant approval before work begins.
What warranty and support are included?
Manufacturer cover depends on the charger chosen. Ask us to confirm product warranty terms, installation support and who to contact with a fault before accepting the quote.
What information helps with a quote?
Send your town or Eircode, vehicle details and parking arrangement. Photos of the fuseboard and proposed charger location can help us understand the job. Do not remove electrical covers to take photographs.
